NZ Post - Getting the courier driver to follow instructions

We are working to get better performance from a small number of NZ Post courier drivers who have been ignoring our Shipping Order Notes.

So if you want to leave delivery instructions for your courier - that pop up on their handheld  device and force them to read the instructions?  Keep reading.

If your order is shipped via NZ Post, you can add a note that goes directly to the driver's handheld device — things like "leave at back door", "gate code is 1234", or "leave with neighbour at No. 5".

Here's how:

  1. Select the tracking link in your delivery notification email.
  2. Click "View/Manage"
  3. Under Delivery Options, click "Add Delivery Instructions"
  4. Sign in (or quickly create a free NZ Post account)
  5. Type your instructions and save

✅ You can do this any time before the parcel is loaded onto the delivery van that morning.
